The feature of pinning messages in chats for up to 30 days is currently available to WhatsApp users. Meta says that this feature, which the mobile Facebook Messenger app already has, is now rolling out to users, so not everyone will see it right away. You also need to update your app to access the feature.
How to pin WhatsApp messages?
- Android: Press and hold the message. more options > tap Pin > choose the pin duration (24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days) > tap Pin.
- iPhone: Press and hold the message. Tap More options > Pin > select pin duration (24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).
- Web & Desktop: Go to the message you want to pin and click menu > Pin message > select the pin duration (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days) > click Pin.
To pin a WhatsApp message, users need to long-press on a message and tap the “Pin” option. The default duration for message pinning is seven days, but users can choose to change it to 24 hours or 30 days. On the other hand, any message can be pinned, so if you want to pin a poll, an image, or even a video, you can do so.
WhatsApp has received major quality of life updates recently. These features include privacy-focused features such as voice messages that disappear after being listened to and the ability to hide locked chats. Meta also began offering full quality image and video sharing on WhatsApp for iOS users earlier this month.
