According to DSCC, total foldable phone shipments in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 215% compared to the previous quarter. Shipments of these premium smartphones are also increasing 480 percent year on year. In other words, they are expanding their market share with a great acceleration. A remarkable situation in the presented report is the structures of Huawei and Samsung that dominate this sector.
Samsung and Huawei dominate 99 percent of the market!
According to the resulting sales data, Samsung dominates 93 percent of the foldable phone market. Huawei, on the other hand, holds 6 percent. Therefore, these two brands are enough to dominate the market. Of course, without the US restrictions, the Chinese company could have had a much greater impact.
