After Apple, Samsung and Huawei, OPPO also announced that it has developed its own processor. The processor, which will be introduced in December, will be used in new devices that the company will develop.

Smartphone manufacturers continue to rival Qualcomm and MediaTek with the chipsets they have developed. Digital Chat Station has leaked that OPPO will manufacture a Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

OPPO will introduce its first artificial intelligence-focused mobile processor next week

Some information about the new processor developed by OPPO has emerged in Webio, which is among the popular platforms of China. Famous analyst Digital Chat Station announced that the company will come up with a Kirin 970-like processor developed by Huawei.

Launching the Kirin 970 model in 2017, Huawei succeeded in producing the industry’s first artificial intelligence-focused mobile phone chip. Standing out with its low power consumption and high performance, the Kirin 970 can process approximately 500 thousand photos with its 4,000 mAh battery.

Among the leaked information is that the cost of the chip is quite high and that TSMC uses 6nm technology. The chip crisis that emerged in 2020 deeply affected many sectors, especially smartphone and automobile manufacturers. Therefore, it is stated that the company prefers production with 6nm technology.

Introducing the Tensor processor with the Pixel 6 series, Google aims to increase the user experience by producing both hardware and software on its own. Similarly, Huawei, Samsung and Apple are known to produce their own chips for user experience and performance.

The new processor will be introduced at 14.00 TSI at the OPPO INNO Day event to be held on December 14. One day after the INNO Day event, OPPO’s first foldable model, Find N, will be announced.
