Mozilla had published instructions to help developers adapt desktop extensions to Android. These instructions attracted much more interest from developers than the company expected. The number of new extensions has already exceeded 400.
“We were very impressed with the preparations of the developers”
“We’ve been blown away by the enthusiasm and preparation of the developers. Just a few weeks ago it looked like we had a few hundred Android extensions launching, but now we have over 400 Android extensions launching on December 14th,” said Firefox Director of Engineering Giorgio Natili.
In addition, the company promised to redesign the extension store to make it easier to use. A few new Android extensions have also been released to give insight before the official launch. You can access these extensions from the page by clicking here.
