As electric vehicles spread all over the world, Toyota is taking a different approach. The Japanese company, which highlights its hybrid models, decided to implement some changes in this regard. Toyota, which equips its logo with blue lines on hybrid vehicles, will now use its standard logo. It will add badges to electric and hybrid models.
Toyota will add badges to hybrid and electric vehicles
Toyota has been using a blue logo on its hybrid vehicles for a long time. The company, which wants to group these cars separately, will now make a change in the badge. The blue lines around the logo on Toyota’s hybrid vehicles will disappear and a blue badge will appear.
The 2024 Toyota Camry, which is expected to go on sale late this year, will be the first model offered with the new badge. This also means that the brand has abandoned the iconic logo that has symbolized hybrid technology since 2009.
A spokesperson from Toyota pointed out in his statement on the subject that the company is working on dozens of new electric cars. Stating that the blue logo representing the hybrid may cause confusion, the spokesperson stated that the blue logo will not be used on models such as the bZ4X SUV.
On the other hand, the first electric vehicle to use the company’s “Beyond Zero” branding will be bZ4X. This model is planned to be available in early 2024.
Toyota’s current hybrid models will continue to use the blue logo until their next generation. However, Toyota stated that it will switch to the badge system as it expands the electric options in its product range.
