Year-end data of App Store and Google Play Store platforms have emerged. While the attacks of mobile platforms continue with the development of technology, we can say that the latest shared details prove this situation. While the growth in the sector continues, the latest situation in the rivalry of the two giants has been revealed.
App Store, which is already ahead, continues to maintain the difference according to the latest data. Users also maintain their trust in Apple.
App Store almost doubles its competitor
The report, published by Sensor Tower in the past days, contains many important details. According to the data shared as of 2021, users have spent 133 billion dollars. This shows an increase of 20 percent compared to last year. The total money spent on mobile platforms in 2020 was $111.1 billion.
Of course, when it comes to the money spent on mobile platforms, the competition between Apple and Google gains great importance. The two companies, which publish applications for their own ecosystems in their stores, manage to generate large revenues. App Store, which made a significant difference to its biggest rival by earning 72.3 billion dollars last year, managed to increase this figure to 85.1 billion dollars with a 17 percent growth.
On the other hand, Google Play Store closed the year with a serious growth. The platform, which earned a total revenue of $38.8 billion last year, achieved a 23.5 percent growth this year. The money the company earned from its store this year was recorded as $ 47.9 billion. The platform, which has grown more than the App Store, still has to close the big difference in front of it. In the latest data, there is a huge difference of 37.6 billion dollars in front of the Google Play Store.
In the table where mobile games are an important income item, Google Play Store gets 78 percent of its earnings from these productions. While a 12 percent increase was observed in the general mobile game industry, the App Store’s market share was 61.5 percent. Let’s see how next year’s numbers will be, we will wait and see.
