Amazon’s cloud platform, AWS, which carries more than 200 services, crashed around 19:00 this evening. Amazon Web Services, which experienced access problems, caused major service disruptions, especially in the USA, where Amazon provides numerous services.
Thousands of access issues have been reported, based in New York, Chicago, and Washington, as reported by Downdetector. Amazon, on the other hand, announced that the cause of the problem was determined and work on a solution was started.
Although the source of the problem has been found, there is no fix yet
AWS provides cloud services to many different companies and institutions, not just Amazon’s services. Many universities and government institutions working with this service have been experiencing online disruptions for hours. Companies and products such as Facebook, Instacart, Venmo, Kindle, Roku Disney+ and McDonald’s are also among those affected by the collapse of AWS.
It is not certain when this process, in which more than 11 thousand access problems have been detected, will end. Amazon is currently trying to fix the problem it has found the source of. However, the prolongation of the collapse is quite risky for Amazon. Because you may remember that Facebook had an outage of about 6 hours on October 4th. The company, which could not solve the problem for a long time and many platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp became unusable, lost 5% in its shares.
