The countdown for Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and MediaTek Dimensity 8300 has officially begun. Today, the release date and features of the processors that will power mid-range smartphones have been revealed. Both platforms feature significant changes compared to the previous generation. Let’s take a look at the details together.

Date given for Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Dimensity 8300

According to the information shared by WHY LAB, both Dimensity 8300 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will be released in the next two weeks. At this point, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is expected to be introduced first, followed immediately by the Dimensity 8300 chip.

For those who missed it, Honor 100, which will be available on November 23, will be one of the first phones with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. Additionally, the new platform will also power other smartphones such as Vivo S18, Vivo V30 and OnePlus Ace 3. On the other hand, Dimensity 8300 will first meet us in the Redmi K70e model. At this point, the K70 series, including the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro, is expected to be introduced at the end of this month.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Dimensity 8300 features

As for the technical details, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will be powered by a high-performance core running at 2.63 GHz, 3x 2.40 GHz performance cores and 4x 1.80 GHz efficiency cores. In graphics-based functions and games, the processor will be accompanied by Adreno 720 GPU. It is also said that the new processor will be based on TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process.

The closest competitor of Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is Dimensity 8300, which uses a similar fabrication process with 3x 2.4 GHz Cortex-A715 performance cores and 4x 2.4 GHz Cortex-A510 efficiency cores as well as 2.8 GHz. It will receive support from the Cortex-X3 large core. We should point out that this configuration is quite assertive for the mid-range. In the graphics section, there will be an 850MHz Mali G520 MC6 GPU.

The connectivity, compatibility and artificial intelligence-based features of the new platforms are not yet clear. Therefore, we have to wait a while longer for all the details.
