The presence of Exynos 2200 in the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE model was perceived negatively by most people. However, a series of tests show that the price-performance focused phone can maintain the performance it stores for a long time. Some optimizations in the manufacturing process of the Exynos 2200 and a cooling solution upgrade may be the reason for this dramatic change in results.

Exynos 2200 and strong performance stability

Perhaps the most important weakness of Exynos processors was that they were not stable on the performance side and suffered serious performance loss due to heating, which we refer to as thermal throttling. However, apparently the Exynos 2200 in the Galaxy S23 FE does not exhibit this type of behavior. While we didn’t get a look at the interior of the Galaxy S23 FE, it’s also possible that Samsung has added a vapor chamber.

In any case, Youtuber Ron Tek put the Galaxy S23 FE through a series of benchmarks and stability tests and came up with some important findings. When the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test is completed, the result is quite surprising because it seems that the Galaxy S23 FE can maintain more than 75 percent of its real performance. Even in the CPU throttling test, the Exynos 2200’s performance dropped to 74 percent of its maximum capacity. These values are extremely similar to the solutions from Qualcomm.

What’s even more interesting is that the Exynos 2200 outperforms the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro running Tensor G3, tested in the normal version of 3DMark’s Wild Life benchmark and not in ‘Extreme’ mode. Assuming that both the Exynos 2200 and Tensor G3 are manufactured on Samsung’s 4nm LPP (Low Power Plus) process, the inclusion of a vapor chamber in the Galaxy S23 FE could be the reason behind this difference.
