The space race between countries continues rapidly. China is at the top of this race along with the USA. The vehicles sent by these countries to orbit, the Moon and Mars aim to conduct research that may be beneficial to humanity and to discover the secrets of the depths of space, and share new findings with scientists.
Now, one of these vehicles has made a very interesting discovery. According to the statements made by the authorities, the rover named Yutu-2, which China sent to the Moon as part of the Chang’e 4 mission in 2018, displayed a “mysterious object” on the surface of the Moon. Yutu-2 shared a photo of this mysterious object it discovered on Friday, December 3, and aroused many people’s curiosity.
‘Mysterious house’
In the images released by the country’s space agency, it can be seen that the mysterious object photographed is ‘cube-shaped’. This object, which is also described as a ‘mystery house’ according to experts, is located in an area 80 meters north of the Von Kármán Crater.
According to the statements made, Yutu-2 will now approach this mysterious object and try to examine it. However; It should also be noted that this ‘mysterious house’ is likely to be an optical illusion due to the poor quality of the photograph. Andrew Jones, one of the first journalists to share the images, also said about this situation, “This object is not an obelisk or an alien; but it is definitely something to be checked” and underlined that there is no need to get excited for now.
It should be noted that this is not the first interesting discovery of Yutu-2 on the Moon. The rover also discovered a ‘gel-like substance’ on the lunar surface in 2019. However, later investigations revealed that this substance was a rock. In addition, earlier this year, he stumbled upon an ‘oddly shaped’ object; however, upon examination, it turned out that this object was also a normal rock.
