Cyberpunk 2077, which had a problematic launch in 2020, caused one of the biggest controversies in game history. The production, which attracted attention with its story and gameplay, was removed from Playstation and Xbox stores due to many errors and performance problems. CD Projekt Red, which started serious work to solve these problems, re-released the game with the 1.5 update published in 2022 and attracted attention. The studio, which later released many more updates, started working on Cyberpunk 2 after the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty expansion released in the past weeks.

Work has begun on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077

After the highly successful Phantom Liberty package and 2.0 update, CD Projekt Red announced that the production has reached the end of the road. However, the company also stated that work has begun for the next Cyberpunk production and talked about the project.

New Cyberpunk may offer Witcher-like gameplay

CD Projekt, which chose third-person gameplay with The Witcher series, managed to attract attention by including FPS (first-person) gameplay in Cyberpunk 2077. Although many players loved the FPS structure of Cyberpunk 2077, some players wanted the game to offer a TPS option, but apparently the studio does not regret its decision.

Pawel Sasko, who served as the Task Director in the production, stated that Cyberpunk 2077’s first-person view added an identity to the production and that they did not regret this decision. Cyberpunk, which gained an identity by offering a different gameplay from Witcher, may not follow this path in subsequent productions. Sasko stated that they have not yet made a decision about whether Cyberpunk’s new production, codenamed Project Orion, will be FPS or TPS. Do you think the new Cyberpunk should offer gameplay similar to Witcher 3?
