Microsoft, which first attempted to purchase Activision-Blizzard early last year, has entered the last week to complete the deal. It may be close to acquiring the developer of popular franchises like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft for $68.7 billion.

The last week has entered for the Microsoft and Activision-Blizzard agreement

A source who said that Microsoft is aware of its plans said that it is targeting Friday, October 13 to end the approval process. The agreement will be completed if Microsoft receives the green light from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), after the US.

The CMA blocked the merger earlier this year over competition concerns in cloud gaming. However, Microsoft resolved these concerns by signing an agreement transferring the cloud rights of Activision-Blizzard games to Ubisoft.

Following preliminary approval from the CMA last month, we understand the regulator is meeting to give final approval to the acquisition. The CMA is expected to reach a decision and approve the deal next week.

After the CMA announces its decision, Microsoft will have completed this agreement approximately 20 months after its attempt to acquire Activision-Blizzard. It should be noted that conditional approval has been received from Europe and the USA. According to this approval, Call of Duty games will be available for PlayStation for another 10 years.

Once most of the regulatory hurdles are overcome, Microsoft will acquire Activision. The venture, worth $68.7 billion, will go down in history as the largest acquisition in gaming history.
