The countdown has officially begun for Android 14, which was introduced by Google last February. As you know, the new version was expected to be available in August, like Android 13, but this did not happen and all eyes turned to October 4, when Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 will be introduced. Today, that date may have been confirmed.

Android 14 release date revealed

As reported, Canadian mobile operator Telus shared a list showing when Android 14 will be available for distribution. So much so that this list states that all Pixel phones starting with Pixel 4a will receive the “Android U” update on October 4. For those who don’t know, Android U is the abbreviation of Android Upside Down Cake, which is the internal code name of Android 14. Therefore, it is possible that the leak is real.

The list shared by Telus has been removed from publication as of now and no statement has been shared yet. But the good news is that we’ll know in less than 48 hours.

Android 14 expected features

  • More customization for the lock screen
  • Emoji and cinematic wallpapers
