Intel Meteor Lake desktop processors confirmed
To remember, we have heard many rumors about Intel Meteor Lake processors so far. So much so that it was stated that Meteor Lake processors would only target mobile platforms, and only Raptor Lake Refresh would be introduced on the desktop platform. However, a new statement from Intel shows the opposite of these leaks.
In an interview with PCWorld, Intel Executive Vice President and Head of Computing Group Michelle Johnston Holthaus confirmed that Meteor Lake-S desktop processors will be officially released in 2024. At this point, the official responded positively to the question “Will Meteor Lake be a desktop?” and stated that the mobile and desktop platforms will be “a single processor family from top to bottom” without being separated from each other.
Although this is exciting, the release date of the 14th Generation Meteor Lake-S desktop processors is still uncertain. So we could see it launch with the Raptor Lake Refresh early in the first quarter, or closer to the rumored Arrow Lake-S platform. However, in such a case, Intel will announce three desktop series in a single year: Raptor Lake Refresh, Meteor Lake-S and Arrow Lake-S (end 2024). Therefore, we have to wait a while longer for all the details.
