Surface Laptop Go 3
The new Surface Laptop Go 3 should not be confused with the non-laptop Surface Go, which is a smaller, less-performing version of the popular main Surface tablet series. The 12.4-inch Surface Laptop Go 3 is the company’s cheapest and lightest laptop for those who aren’t looking for a powerhouse but love the Surface style.
Aside from the aforementioned performance increases, the new Surface Laptop Go 3 remains largely the same as its predecessor. It features a similar 3:2 aspect ratio PixelSense touchscreen as both the previous model and the first model released in 2020. The screen still has a meager resolution of 1536 x 1024. The new model comes in four colors (platinum, sage, sandstone and ice blue) and weighs 1.13 kg. There’s no innovation in ports either: one USB-A port, one USB-C, a headphone jack on the left and the proprietary Surface Connect port on the right.
On the other hand, the new Laptop Go 3 has a fingerprint scanner. Additional features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and removable SSD modules that you can install up to 512 GB of storage. The laptop has a 720p webcam with a “studio microphone” and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio support.
Surface Laptop Go 3 price and release date
The new Surface Laptop Go 3 will be available starting from October 3. While Microsoft emphasized up to 15 hours of battery life, the starting price of the device was announced as $ 799.
Surface Go 4
The Surface Go 4 now features a new, slightly more powerful quad-core Intel N200 processor, replacing the dual-core Intel Pentium processor found in the previous Surface Go 3. Microsoft has also ditched the 4GB RAM configuration available on previous models, meaning the Surface Go 4 will now only be available with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory. Although the Surface Go series was primarily aimed at the business and education market, 4GB was a very insufficient amount of memory. Storage starts from 64GB, with additional options for 128GB and 256GB.
Surface Go 4 price and release date
Frankly, the Surface Go 4 is not a bad upgrade with what it offers and promises, but the main shortcomings of the previous model do not seem to have been resolved. The general design and structure have not changed, whereas in the previous model it was stated that this area was of poor quality. The hardware side does not meet the desired price. Speaking of price, Surface Go 4 will have prices starting from $579 and will go on sale on October 3. As we said, the device will be for the corporate side only.
