Shock from Finland to Xiaomi
While many technology giants suspend or reduce their activities in Russia, Xiaomi, on the contrary, is increasing its market share in the country. Finland imposed sanctions on Xiaomi, which was accused by Ukraine of supporting the war.
Finland’s two largest operators, Telia and DNA, stopped selling Xiaomi phones. Only phones remaining in stock will continue to be sold. Another major operator, Elisa, has reduced the number of models. Since there is no EU-wide ban, Gigantti and Verkkokauppa retailers will continue limited sales.
In Finland, one of the countries with the highest antipathy towards Russia, the retail sector’s countermeasures have continued since the war began. Many retailers have stopped sales or are selling limited models.
