Meta’s popular instant messaging application WhatsApp has started testing a new feature called “Flows”. Flows, which focuses on improving the shopping experience of users via WhatsApp, will enable transactions such as choosing a seat during a plane trip or making an appointment at a business. Users will be able to handle many tasks without leaving WhatsApp.

The WhatsApp team has created a support page for the Flows feature. When we look at this support page, we see that Flows, in addition to what we have mentioned, also has features such as logging into accounts, customizing a product of interest, quick form filling and submission, and registering for events. However, how all these can be used remains largely a mystery for now.

This is what WhatsApp Flows will look like

The shared screenshot reveals a conversation with a company called Zoomture. The user creates an appointment for a trip through this company. We see that it is even possible to choose a seat in the transportation vehicle to be used for this appointment. The feature seems to eliminate the need for users to external websites. WhatsApp, which has been doing important work for the shopping industry for a while, will add a new one to these with Flows.

In the statements made by Meta, it was announced that Flows can currently be tested for some businesses in Brazil and India. After the testing phase is completed, all businesses and users around the world will start using the Flows feature. We will see how effective the feature is when those days come.
