Because repairing electronic devices can be complex, this process can be daunting for many people. Things get more difficult, especially as devices get smaller, like smartwatch models. A remarkable confirmation regarding this issue came from the technology giant Google.

The search giant has officially admitted that it does not currently offer any way to repair a broken Pixel Watch screen, confirming a fact that many had already guessed. Yes, you read it right: Google does not yet provide a repair option for its smart watch.

No repair, only replacement

A company official who made a statement on the subject said, “We do not currently have any repair options for the Google Pixel Watch. If your watch is damaged, you can contact the Google Pixel Watch Customer Support Team to learn about replacement possibilities.”

It should be noted that Google does not offer an extended warranty for the Pixel Watch. The limited warranty also does not cover damage caused by falling or accidental impact. So in short, if your Pixel Watch accidentally gets damaged, you’re left with your own means to fix the problem.

Screen repair possible

Previously, iFixit experts disassembled the Pixel Watch and revealed that although the screen was difficult to access, it was technically possible to replace it. Experts have even prepared detailed instructions on how to install the new screen, but the fact that Google does not supply these spare parts separately spoils the work.

The situation may change when Google introduces Pixel Watch 2, which will share the same design, in October. Earlier this week, California officials passed a law requiring electronics manufacturers to provide at least three years of parts supply for devices priced at $50 or more, and seven years for devices priced at $100 or more.
