Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios’ latest RPG marvel, was officially released just a few days ago and has already claimed the title of the best opening game of the studio’s games. This cannot be said to be a surprise, considering that the game is constantly on the best-selling lists of both Steam and the Xbox store, but it should be noted that an important platform has been skipped in this version and PlayStation fans are not included in this list.

In a tweet posted by Starfield’s official account, he revealed that over six million players have already joined the Skyrim and Fallout maker’s RPG. This number includes Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and possibly cloud players as well.

The announcement comes just a day after Xbox Head Phil Spencer revealed that the RPG’s concurrent player count had surpassed one million. Also, this was for the game’s launch on Wednesday, it is expected that weekend rush may exceed this number. It can easily be said that there is a high probability that the 10 million player announcement will arrive by next week.

Although the official launch is on September 6, those who pay for the Premium version or the Premium upgrade of the Game Pass version have been enjoying the sci-fi sights since September 1. While official platform-specific figures have not yet been released, at its peak during this early access period alone, the Steam version alone had reached over 230,000 concurrent players. Even the Premium Upgrade was the Xbox Store’s best-selling product at the time.

According to third-party data, Starfield may have sold over two million premium versions/upgrades from fans who wanted to get their hands on the game just five days early.

Starfield is now available for purchase on Xbox Series X|S as well as PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers and Xbox Cloud Gaming users via Game Pass Ultimate can also join this storm at no extra cost.
