Competition in the smartphone industry continues. While companies work hard to get one step ahead of the competition, this situation undoubtedly benefits users the most due to the increase in product diversity. iQOO, which started its operations as a subsidiary of Vivo in 2019, but continues to operate independently as of today, is one of these companies. The company will soon present the iQOO 12 to users, and the technical specifications of the models have been revealed recently.
What will iQOO 12 offer users?
Digital Chat Station revealed the technical features of the upcoming iQOO 12 series. Accordingly, the Samsung E7 AMOLED panel, which offers 2K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate, will be used in smartphones. On the other hand, the Pro model of the series will include the OmniVision OV64B periscope sensor.
It should be noted that the iQOO 12 series has a metal structure and supports 200W fast charging. Additionally, both models are expected to be equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C 3. The Pro will have up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage options. For now, the storage and memory options of the standard model have not been shared.
The processor that will power the smartphones will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm has set the launch date of the chipset as October 2023. The new processor will show itself at the company’s annual Snapdragon Summit. The event, which is planned to be held in Maui, Hawaii, will open its doors on October 24-26.
The new processor seems to surprise with its performance as well as its launch date. According to the information received, the processor, which will gain a significant performance upgrade, will host the 3.7GHz Cortex-X4 core. Changes are also expected in the core architecture of the processor.
The iQOO 12 series, which is expected to be introduced in October, will run the Android 14-based Origin OS 4.0 interface out of the box.
