MSI’s AM5 motherboards get a massive DDR5 memory speed boost thanks to the latest AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update. The new BIOS update not only improves DDR5 memory performance, but also includes various compatibility fixes and new features such as High Efficiency Mode that boosts gaming performance by up to 12 percent.

MSI AM5 motherboards DDR5-8000 era begins

With the AGESA 1.0.0.7c update released, a serious DDR5 frequency increase is possible in MSI’s AM5 motherboard series. Support for up to DDR5-8000 memory is now available for the top of the line MEG X670E GODLIKE and X670E ACE. Previously, both of these cards supported DDR5-6666+ and DDR5-6600+ memory, so the new speeds are a huge improvement.

Moving down the rankings, there are a number of MPG and MAG series motherboards that are seeing a huge boost in memory support. We see that almost the entire segment has achieved supporting DDR5-7000 DRAM. Even the entry-level model, the MSI Pro A620M-E, gets DDR5-6800 DRAM support thanks to the latest AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update. This motherboard previously supported up to DDR5-6000 memory.

The new AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7c BIOS update now not only improves high-frequency memory support, but also allows for much higher overclocking. We’ve already seen a few AM5 boards that easily go above DDR5-9000 frequencies that were previously impossible for the platform. You can access the BIOS update from the support page of your relevant product. If you do not know how to update, “How to update BIOS, what does it do?” You can use our guide.
