One of the most common complaints users complained about on WhatsApp was the poor quality when sending photos and videos. The platform has somewhat solved this problem by introducing the feature of sending HD quality photos in the past weeks. Even a few days ago, HD videos started to be offered to users.
It has emerged in the last Android beta version that the application operating within Meta is now planning to make another move in this regard. The feature noticed by WABetaInfo will allow photos and videos to be sent in original quality.
Photos and videos can be sent as documents
The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows that users will be presented with the option to “choose original quality photo or video”. It also appears that the app will accept photos and videos as a document.
In other words, it will be possible to send photos or videos by accessing the gallery from the “Document” option in the chats. In this way, the files you send will not be compressed and their quality will not decrease. Normally, it was necessary to resort to different methods other than application to send in original quality.
Let’s explain the difference from the HD photo or video sending feature. WhatsApp also compresses photos sent in HD. Video is also allowed up to 720p. This means that the quality may still not be at the desired level. Sending as a document in original quality will solve this on Android and iOS, allowing media to be shared in full resolution.
There is no word yet on when the feature will arrive. But testing suggests it could come soon.
