After pressure from Elon Musk on Twitter, some users were wondering if Tim Cook would also join another social media platform like Mastodon or Threads. It was noticed a while ago that Tim Cook was featured on Instagram. It was thought to be Tim Cook’s official account when Apple employees as well as Apple vice presidents such as Lisa Jackson and Alan Dye followed the account, but it was not. Apple closed the account in a short time.

Although Tim Cook was very active on X, he criticized the design of the social platform. He said that the endless stream of Twitter, formerly known as, was affecting his mental health. Cook also introduced the anti-tracking feature in iOS 14.5 in response to Meta’s privacy practices. This feature was criticized by Meta for thinking it could hurt ad revenue. Despite his criticism, Cook does not actively share on a platform other than Twitter.
