In the presidential elections, the AK Party promised students tax-free phones and computers. Although three months have passed after the election, no official steps have been taken in this regard yet.
Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance, gave the following answer to the students’ question about tax-free telephone and computer arrangement:
“We have a study, but I cannot give its details. Of course, the Assembly should be opened in matters that require legal regulation. Those that require an administrative decision are made by an administrative decision. I will not make an assessment on issues that are not finalized regarding neither timing nor content. I’m speaking generally. There is more than one topic. Therefore, in principle, it is not right for me to make an assessment on the issues in which promiscuous work is not completed.”
