Sony winked again on the mobile platform
Sony has announced that it has no plans for mobile platforms after PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation Vita. While it is thought that the Japanese company will not develop any mobile devices in the near future, a patent taken by the company may indicate that the situation has changed.
Although a powerful handheld console like SteamDeck will be released in the coming period, we haven’t seen consoles focused solely on mobile for a long time. Finally, Nintendo has been quite successful in bringing together the concept of both a handheld console and a powerful home console with the Switch.
Switch, which is still being sold in a scramble, may have caused Sony to head into a different area. The patents you see above show a classic PlayStation controller with two analogues, with a screen in the middle. In this sense, it is possible to think that this device developed by Sony is not a classic handheld console. Instead, a device that does not have a very solid hardware, works integrated with PS5 and can play games when you are not at home with cloud technology may be being developed. Another possibility is that this controller is a simple PlayStation controller that is integrated into the middle of smartphones.
