Apple will unveil a number of new products next month, including the iPhone 15 series. The production of the iPhone 15 family in India has finally started. According to industry sources, Apple aroused curiosity by starting its production in India earlier than usual.

Foxconn opens India factories early for iPhone 15 production

Foxconn, Apple’s main partner in iPhone production, started production of the iPhone 15 series in China earlier this month. Weeks later, it completed its preparations for the assembly of new models at its facility in India. This is intriguing as it is earlier than the production schedule, which started in November last year in India.

According to March 2023 data, about 7 percent of the iPhone 14 series was produced in India. This ratio is expected to increase with the iPhone 15 series, as Apple aims to reduce its dependence on China and increase its production capacity in India.

On the other hand, other Apple suppliers such as Pegatron and Wistron put their facilities in India up for sale. Tata Group will undertake the iPhone 15 production of these companies in India.

Increasing production in India allows Apple to diversify its supply chain. This situation prevents possible stock problems and at the same time helps to maintain the balance in the US-China economic war.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to have four models. Smartphones will feature the A16 Bionic chip, which will come to the fore with its energy efficiency. It is also reported that it will have 6GB of RAM and will come with 128GB/256GB and 512GB storage. New generation iPhones will use USB-C port instead of Lightning for the first time.
