Apple Watch X is coming
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a thinner “Apple Watch X” with magnetic watch strap mounts, a blood pressure sensor and a microLED display. It is stated that the Watch X model will be released in late 2024 or 2025 and will include the biggest design change in the series. However, we will see the Watch Series 9 family and the second generation Watch Ultra at the Apple event this September. There is not much information about these watches, but we do not expect huge changes compared to the previous generation.
On the other hand, the old mechanical connections of all Apple Watches to date have allowed customers to reuse their old bands for years. But Apple thinks the current strap system is taking up too much space and could be used for larger batteries or other internal components. That’s why Apple is currently considering a magnetic lanyard attachment system, but it’s currently unclear whether it will be ready or available on the Apple Watch X. The Apple Watch X could also coincide with Apple’s introduction of microLED display technology that surpasses the color and clarity of existing OLED displays. It could also be the first Apple Watch to feature blood pressure monitoring.
