The 14700K will have a 20-core configuration

The post shared on Bilibili reveals Intel’s new processor with all the details. The video shared on the site named the processor as “Core i7-13700KS” via BIOS in order not to deal with legal problems, but the technical details we saw on CPU-z show that the product is Core i7-14700K.

The processor, which will have 33MB of cache, will have a base clock speed of 3.4GHz, but with TBMT3, these clocks can go up to 5.6GHz. If you remember, the Core i7-13700K had 8 performance and 8 efficiency cores.

It will offer up to 20% performance increase

In CPU-z benchmark tests, the 14700K scores 909.7 points in the single-core test and 14992.8 points in the multi-core test. With these scores, the 14700K provides a 20% multi-core performance increase and a 4% single-core performance increase over the previous generation. In the Cinebench R32 test, the multi-core performance increase is reduced to 15%, but the single-core performance increase manages to stay at the same level. The product can see clock speeds of 5.5GHz in performance cores and 4.3GHz in efficiency cores. The power consumption of the device increases by 30W and reaches 260W.

In gaming tests, Intel’s new processor shows minor improvements. Paired with the RTX 4090, the processor achieves almost indistinguishable gains over the 13700K in 1080p tests when paired with an 8000Mhz RAM, while when paired with a 5600MHz RAM the performance gains are higher. Despite the notable performance gains, the Core i7 14700K lags behind the Core i9-13900K in multi-core tests. Intel’s 14th generation processors are expected to be introduced in the coming months.
