RTX Remix, which was introduced last September and allows easy modding of classic computer games, is now used in Tomb Raider 1. So, how does the RTX Remix, which was used in games such as DOOM (1993), Quake and Half Life 2, look like in Tomb Raider 1, which was released in 1996? Here are the images from the game renewed with Ray Tracing and Path Tracing technologies.

Tomb Raider 1 remastered with RTX Remix

For those who don’t know, RTX Remix allows remastering of old games with higher quality textures, new lighting system, ray tracing and resolution upscaling technologies. Thus, this feature, which is opened to both users and developers, enables old productions with DirectX 8 or DirectX 9 support to come to life again.

When we look at the shared video, we see that Tomb Rader 1, which has been almost 27 years since its release, has gained a darker atmosphere. Of course, there is a lot of room for improvement. Niketim game textures are still in low resolution. However, it is worth noting that the path-tracking technology looks stunning, with awe-inspiring reflections and environmental light and shadow effects.

Also, let’s remind you that Tomb Raider is not the only game renewed with RTX Remix. As we mentioned above, the RTX Remix community is currently working on many other classic PC games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout: New Vegas, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.

Unfortunately the modder did not share any link to download the new Tomb Raider 1 mod. But considering the work of its community, we can say that similar mods will increase in the future.
