The text-based application integrated into Instagram was launched in early July. It became the fastest growing application, reaching more than 100 million active users in a few days. However, according to data from the research firm, the number of daily active users of the app has dropped by 82 percent compared to its peak.
According to Sensor Tower data, users not only open Threads less often, but also spend much less time. The usage rate, which was about 20 minutes in the first week, has now decreased to 3 minutes a day.
Another analysis firm confirmed these data. He stated that Threads usage had dropped to 12.6 million as of last week. Additionally, about 10 percent of the Twitter audience still continues to use Threads.
It takes a long time for Threads to become a daily habit for users. In addition, there are many missing features such as chatting in the application.
Despite these numbers, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg remains optimistic about Threads. It plans to focus on building core features before trying to grow its user base further. But it’s unclear whether it will become an app like Instagram and Facebook.
