Google announced that it’s making it easier for users to find and remove results related to them, as well as updating its policies to not show results related to explicit images in search. Google will now notify the user with instant notification when it detects websites that extract private information, such as contact information, in searches. The new control panel builds on Google’s “Results about you” tool launched last year and simplifies the process of removing private information such as phone number, home address, e-mail address from search results.
Users will be able to request a quick removal from Google if they come across their private information during the period when almost any information is on the internet. This tool is accessible via the Google app, but is currently only available to users in the United States and in English. Google also stated that it will expand to more countries soon, and language support will be increased.
Inappropriate content will be blurred by default
Google will now blur inappropriate images, such as adult and violent imagery, in searches by default. The new SafeSearch blur setting will be available worldwide later this month. Settings can be edited and turned off as long as the parent or school network administrator does not lock the safe search. In addition, parental controls can be quickly accessed by searching for Google family link or Google parental controls.
