TikTok, which has been exposed to many negative comments and criticisms since its launch in 2016, is not a social media application that is taken seriously. Even so, platforms such as Instagram and YouTube, known as social media giants, do not stop being “inspired” by TikTok’s video style.
Finally, Spotify, which has developed a partnership with Netflix and announced a new feature called Netflix Hub and will broadcast music and podcasts related to Netflix content, is now on the agenda with a new discover section inspired by TikTok. Product designer Chris Messina also shared on his Twitter account showing the new feature.
New discovery: Discover
Spotify, which has attracted attention after activating the lyrics feature, will apparently attract attention with this new feature it is working on. According to the new feature in question, Spotify is testing the vertical video feature that we are used to from TikTok. With the Explore section, this feature will be available to users in the mobile application, and users will be able to scroll through short videos by swiping up.
Spotify, which will provide this through a new button called “Discover”, confirmed in a statement to TechCrunch that they are testing this new feature. “We routinely do some testing to improve our user experience at Spotify. Some of these tests pave the way for our broader user experience, and others serve only as an important learning function. We have no further news to share at this time.”
