Nintendo Switch, which was launched as a lifeline to the dying handheld console market in 2017, is one of the best-selling game consoles in history as of 2023. Nintendo continues to work on the sequel model of this console, which has accomplished successful works, and is preparing to present Nintendo Switch 2 to users in 2024, although it is not yet clear. A recent report reveals that the upcoming model will be missing an important feature.
Nintendo Switch 2 won’t come with an OLED display
The original Nintendo Switch, which went on sale in 2017, offered a very good user experience for its time with its technical features and design. Although the model, which hosts the LCD panel, was accepted by the users in the first place, it caused a change in Nintendo after the OLED screens became widespread and the LCD was not enough. At this point late 2021 Nintendo Switch OLED is on show.
It looks like Nintendo will follow a similar path to its predecessors on the Switch 2 console. Because the latest reports claim that the model will come with an LCD panel, contrary to the expectations of the users. If the rumors are true, it is highly likely that we will see an OLED version a few years after the product debuts.
Switch is far behind past generation consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One in terms of hardware. In fact, the performance problems experienced in games such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which have recently been released, are the biggest indicator of this. However, this issue will be fixed with the upcoming Switch 2 model. Because past reports reveal that the product will offer game performance close to Xbox One and PS4.
