Apple expects to launch the iPhone 15 series in September of this year. There are leaks from reliable sources before the products are even introduced. So we can more or less predict how the iPhone 15 series will be. Now, a new one has been added to these leaks. So much so that the iPhone 15 Pro may come up with a titanium body. This can also have a negative impact on the user. So how?
iPhone 15 Pro will come with a titanium body
For the bezel of the iPhone 15 Pro models, Apple may turn stainless steel in favor of the lighter, but more expensive, titanium. However, Mark Gurman, who is famous for his leaks in the industry, also claimed that the iPhone 15 Pro models will have thinner frames than previous models thanks to a new production technology called ‘low injection pressure overmolding’ or LIPO.
It looks like this new technique is expected to shrink the bezels around the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max screens from 2.2mm on current models to about 1.5mm. The technology was originally used with the Apple Watch Series 7 a few years ago and is expected to be used in future iPads as well. Sharing this information with users in his weekly bulletin on Sunday, Gurman also gave bad news.
He mentioned that these changes could come at a cost, as he expects Apple to raise prices for all four models in overseas markets. Even in the US, the company may at least increase the prices of “some pro models” to compensate for the switch to titanium and the improved camera system on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. So the titanium body and thin bezels may cost European countries a bit more.
Gurman also reiterated that all four iPhone 15 models will feature Dynamic Island (the in-display pill-shaped camera system we saw on the iPhone 14 Pro) this year, removing the notch still present on the base iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Finally, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be powered by the A16 chip from last year’s Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will reportedly come with a 3-nanometer chip that Gurman believes will be “noticeably faster.”
