It was known that Samsung is working on a device that will revolutionize the wearable technology industry, its name is Galaxy Ring. This device is being developed as a health tracker and was expected to launch in 2024, but things have changed.
This smart ring is being developed by Samsung and a number of local and international component manufacturers. However, it will not reach the predetermined release date of 2024. Therefore, a new decision will be made for the release date in August.
The process may take longer as medical certificates need to be obtained
Expected to be released in 2024, the Galaxy Ring stands out for its ability to collect detailed body and health data via built-in sensors. This data can be easily viewed on a smartphone connected to it. Unlike Samsung’s current Galaxy Watch, this smart ring is expected to offer even more precise body measurements. To increase accuracy, the fit of the ring will be adjustable to the wearer’s finger size.
However, there are some challenges Samsung needs to address during the development process. Poor blood flow or excessively tight fitting can affect the accuracy of the data. It is also expected to take about 10 to 12 months to obtain medical device certification, resulting in delays in product availability even if mass production is approved.
