Final Fantasy is one of the longest game series in the world. The Xbox adventure of the series, which has 16 games in total, has been until Final Fantasy XIII so far. In other words, Final Fantasy XIV, which was released in 2013, still had not come to Xbox. Until yesterday.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer took the stage at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival yesterday, and together with the game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, stated that the Xbox community now has access to this game.
“We look forward to collaborating closely with Square Enix on future games”
“I enjoyed being on stage with Yoshi-P and Kiryu-san to announce that Final Fantasy XIV is coming to Xbox. We are excited that the Xbox community will be joining Warriors of Light, and we look forward to collaborating closely with Square Enix on future titles.”
The popular MMORPG game has only been available on PC and PlayStation since its release in 2013. According to Yoshida, one of the most frequent requests from fans was for the game to be released on the Xbox system.
Final Fantasy XIV will be available on Xbox Series S and X, and Series X will support 4K resolution as you can imagine. Fortunately, Xbox gamers won’t have to wait to play the latest add-on. Yoshida stated that the Xbox version will be released in the spring of 2024 and the open beta will be held close to the release of patch 6.5.
