US lawmakers expressed concern about the App Store’s blockchain services.
As of yesterday, two US Representatives sent a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook asking for the company’s App Store guidelines. Authorities, who focused on issues such as blockchain technology and NFT, expressed their concerns and expressed their views.

Representatives Gus Bilirakis and Jan Schakowsky sent a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook asking if the California-based company is blocking App Store guidelines and services related to blockchain technology. Lawmakers cited Axie Infinity’s App Store experience as an example, noting that Apple uses App Store guidelines to both profit and reduce the utility of crypto apps.
The lawmakers who sent the relevant article shared their concerns about the possibility that Apple policies could undermine the US leadership in emerging technologies. “While Apple argues that these limitations increase security by creating a walled garden, many are concerned that Apple is using the app store as a weapon against its competitors,” said the Chair and Senior Fellow of the Data and Commerce Subcommittee.
