3D V-Cache technology, as the name suggests, allows more cache to be stacked on top of the CPU. This technology only reached desktop processors last year, and soon a laptop with a 3D V-Cache CPU will also be available. In this regard, the move came from AMD and the Ryzen 9 7945X3D processor was introduced. So much so that the processor was claimed to be the fastest laptop processor in the world.

AMD: Ryzen 9 7945X3D, the world’s fastest laptop processor!

With the 3D V-Cache technology we mentioned above, AMD was able to fit an extra 64MB of L3 cache into the Ryzen 9 7945X3D. The total amount of cache was 144 MB. This will help reduce the chance of cache hijacking. If your system cannot find the information it is looking for in the cache, it must go to system memory. According to AMD, this could cause processes to take up to 10x longer.

The company claims that its 3D V-Cache approach can help increase the frame rates of games. Other companies can use all these and the new 3D V-Cache technology, but AMD stands out with something else it does. By adding more cache to the typical 2D plane of a CPU vertically rather than filling it vertically, AMD can increase the size of the cache without having to make the chip wider or taller.

So the company can get more performance out of the CPU while avoiding any increase in the horizontal space it takes up on a basic motherboard by increasing the thickness of the processor (which doesn’t matter much to us). The company claims that the Ryzen 9 7945X3D is the fastest laptop gaming processor on the planet, over 15 percent faster than the Ryzen 9 7945HX on average.

Coming to the features of the processor, it is possible to say that the new Ryzen 9 7945X3D has 16 cores, 32 threads, and a clock speed of up to 5.4 Ghz. Also, the processor has a TDP of 55W+. It should also be noted that the CPU is built on the Zen 4 architecture. A laptop with this processor has not been released yet, but ASUS will do so with the ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D.
