Taking the wind of Samsung’s foldable phone launch, OnePlus used this opportunity to announce the name of its first foldable smartphone. The Chinese brand announced via its official Twitter account that the device will be released under the name OnePlus Open.The company tweeted, “We OPEN when others FOLD”. It confirms the rumors that have emerged these days. As you may remember, we reported in our previous news that OnePlus would take a different approach and would not use the Fold name, but would prefer Open instead.
End of August marked for launch
The company has also confirmed that the device will arrive in the third quarter of this year, but there is no firm date. According to sources close to the company, the OnePlus Open model will be introduced on August 29. The device is said to be launched worldwide.
Ice Universe, which we know with its leaks, says that the foldable phone will look like the Oppo Find N3. The Oppo Find N3 hasn’t debuted yet either, but it could arrive soon, sooner than its predecessor. The previous model, the Find N2, was launched in December last year.
