We know that Sony has been developing refurbished PlayStation 5 models for a while. While there were leaks about the affordable PS5 Slim before, now new information has been shared for the PS5 Pro console. The console, which will support 8K resolution, will be released in November 2024.
Targeted November 2024 for PS5 Pro
According to new rumors, Sony is working on a powered PlayStation 5 codenamed ‘Trinity’. Although its name is not clear for now, it is said to be called PlayStation 5 Pro. It will allegedly be officially announced in November of next year.
The Trinity codename actually seems pretty consistent. We know Sony prefers Matrix-themed names like ‘Neo’ for PS4 Pro and ‘Morpheus’ for PlayStation VR. Therefore, the Trinity codename may have been given to the new PlayStation model.
Sources say Trinity has been in development since early 2022. Demo testing for the PS5 Pro is already underway and most developers will receive Trinity kits later this year.
PlayStation 5 Pro will also be on the agenda with its features. It was said that the console will offer 60 FPS and 8K performance mode in 4K resolution. It has also been claimed that Sony is targeting real-time ray-tracing support.
In addition, sources showed that Trinity will be the last model in the PlayStation 5 series and this series will be closed as of 2024. While no new claims regarding the PS5 Slim have surfaced, we can speculate that 2024 could arrive by November.
However, it should be noted that Sony has not yet confirmed that it is working on a new PlayStation 5 model. More rumors will emerge until next year for an affordable or more powerful console.
