As we all know (or some don’t), apps on your Android smartphone monitor your activity and send data about you to third parties. DuckDuckGo, on the other hand, aims to prevent this with its new Application Tracking Protection feature.

Trackers, currently used in many popular apps, are designed to record your activities in real time, such as where you are, what you’re doing, and even how many hours you sleep at night. Even AndroidRank tested by DuckDuckGo. It turned out that 96 percent of popular free Android apps in the org rankings have hidden third-party trackers. 87% of these applications send data to Google and 68% to Facebook.

To prevent this, Apple introduced the Application Tracking Transparency feature and aimed to protect iPhone and iPad users from being tracked. Since Android does not have such a feature, DuckDuckGo is trying to make up for this shortcoming. After the application is installed and this feature is activated, when DuckDuckGo detects an application sending data to third-party applications, it interrupts this transfer and warns the user. This application, which runs in the background, is always active and continues to do its job even while you are sleeping.

The application, which is prepared for beta tests, is not yet available for download. However, if you wish, you can enroll in the waiting list for beta testing by following the path here. . .
