Threads, which Meta company launched as a competitor to Twitter, created a bombshell effect in the social media world. So much so that the platform reached 100 million users in a short period of 5 days, breaking new ground in this field. The CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, made an assessment about Threads.
Mark Zuckerberg: “10 million users come to Threads platform every day”
Meta, the umbrella company of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, released the Threads platform as a rival of Twitter. As such, many people, tired of Twitter’s fluctuating process, flocked to the platform. The platform broke a record with the number of users.
But the rapid rise has come to a halt. The new data shared recently showed that Threads has seen a rapid decline in the number of users and engagement. The company has been experiencing a 20 percent decrease in the number of users in recent days. However, the company’s phenomenal CEO disagrees. Mark Zuckerberg argued that the course of the Threads platform is much better than expected and made the following statements;
Now, 10 million users come every day. This is far beyond what we expected. I am very optimistic about the growth of the Threads community. It will take time to stabilize, but once we do, we will focus on growing the community. I’m sure Threads is on a good track too.
During this period, Twitter’s business began to go bad. Advertising revenues plummeted. However, the CEO of the company, Linda Yaccarino, argued that Twitter has reached the highest levels of recent years in terms of active use, and that Twitter is on the rise. Linda Yaccarino said that they recently had the biggest day of use in the last 5 months. It seems that the CEOs of the rival platform are confident.
