Announcing the RX 7900 XT, the flagship card of the RDNA 3 architecture last November, and the RX 7600 right after, AMD continues its preparations for the mid-range models of the family. In this context, all eyes are on the upcoming RX 7800 and RX 7700 series. Now, a new report has revealed important details about the release date of the RX 7800 and 7700 XT.

RX 7800 and 7700 XT may be introduced by September

According to the well-known leakster MLID, AMD said a year ago that it started work on the RX 7800 XT with the Navi 31 die and the RX 7800 and 7700 XT models that will be based on the Navi 32. However, he did not share any information about what AMD wants to do and which of these models will be released.

However, another source says that the Navi 32 GPU will launch in the third quarter, and this die will be used by the RX 7800 and 7700. So this shows us that the RX 7800 and 7700 will be on display by September at the latest. Also, the source mentioned it on a basic Radeon 7900 model. Therefore, the potential options on the table are quite large.

So what will the RX 7800 and 7700 XT offer?

According to the shared details, Navi 32, which will power the RX7800 and 7700, will be approximately 30% smaller than its older brother Navi 31 with a total die size of 350mm². It is also expected to showcase four MCDs compared to Navi 31’s six MCDs (Multiple Cache Patterns). At this point, the RX 7700 and 7800 XT will support up to 3840 Stream Processors, up to 60 Compute Units, 50MB or more Infinity Cache, and 256-bit memory bus.

On paper, we can say that these features will directly rival the GeForce RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti models. However, we have to wait a little longer for all this.
