Facebook, unable to prevent lawsuits and scandals, came to the fore with a more moderate initiative this time. According to information obtained from the news broadcasting channel The Information, Facebook is entering a project where it will pay musicians and content producers tens of thousands of dollars. Within the scope of this project, musicians and content producers who broadcast live using Facebook’s new Clubhouse-like feature called ‘Live Audio Room’ will be paid up to 50 thousand dollars.
Musicians and content producers who have entered into an agreement within the scope of this project, for which Facebook will pay between 10 thousand and 50 thousand dollars, must broadcast between four and six, each lasting at least half an hour. No comment has been received from the company so far. However, it can be said that the probability of realization of this project is quite high. Because, as it is known, Facebook had other projects to encourage content producers before.
Social media platforms continue to encourage:
Continuing on its way as a meta, Facebook also offers money to content producers through Reeller published on Instagram. Within the scope of this project, called ‘Bonuses for Reels’, content producers who reached 58 million views in November will be paid 45 thousand dollars. A spokesperson for Meta states that the purpose of these projects is to “try to help as many emerging creators as possible make money in the long run.”
Facebook isn’t the only company looking to capitalize on the influence of popular social media users on the masses. Giant social media platforms such as Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube are also undertaking similar projects. For example, YouTube offers the chance to earn big money like 10 thousand dollars by using its feature called ‘YouTube Shorts’, just like Instagram’s Reel project. The fact that social media is becoming a larger part of life also indicates that such projects will become more common.
