After more than 10 years of waiting, the Diablo series finally got a new game. Diablo 4, which debuted in the past weeks; It was highly appreciated by the players with its story, graphics and gameplay. Activision made an important statement about the game, which is expected to be supported for a long time.

DirectStorage support coming to Diablo 4

Developing Velocity Architecture technology for Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X systems, Microsoft announced that this technology will come to Windows computers in the future. Accordingly, Microsoft announced DirectStorage, a low-level API that helps reduce game load times and texture pop-in by eliminating data stream lag. Version 1.1 of the technology, which allows the GPU to access game data directly, was released last November.

The technology, which is constantly updated by Microsoft, has only been used in one game so far. Launched last January, Forspoken demonstrated the success of DirectStorage by offering high-speed loading with DirectStorage. Meeting with PC Gamer, Blizzard officially announced that Diablo 4 will also support DirectStorage. It hasn’t been announced when this update will be released, but it looks like the Blizzard team has started experimenting with DirectStorage for production. Crytek’s successful production Hunt: Showdown will soon have HDR, DirectStorage support with AMD FSR 2.1.
