Operating under General Motors, Cadillac is also expanding its electric vehicle fleet, like all automobile giants. The company announced last month that an electric version of its popular luxury SUV, the Escalade, will arrive.
Today, there has been an important development regarding the highly anticipated vehicle. Cadillac shared a few images while announcing when the new model, which it calls Escalade IQ, will be introduced. The vehicle will join the ranks of large electric SUVs that are rapidly taking over the market.
Escalade IQ to be unveiled on August 9
The fully electric redesigned Escalade will be introduced by Cadillac on August 9, 2023. Although the images shared by the company do not show much about the vehicle, it allows us to take a look at some of the small details waiting for us.
In the images, we can see the Escalade IQ’s headlights and taillights. The LEDs coming out from under the grille like a wing draws attention. In addition, 22-inch wheels mounted on Michelin Primacy LTX tires can also be seen. The company uses similar lines on both sides, while equipping the front with LEDs, reminiscent of its other electric model, the Lyriq, which is a smaller SUV. Cadillac also states in the video that the Escalade IQ will be “the reinvention of an icon”.
General Motors will manufacture the electric Escalade at its facility in Detroit, USA. Saying that it spent $2.2 billion for the facility, the automobile giant was also producing the GMC Hummer EV in this electric vehicle-focused factory.
