The surprise came after a user tweeted, commenting on Musk’s 97-minute interview with British rapper Zuby, saying, “We really need a Twitter video app for smart TVs.” Musk responded to this tweet as “It’s coming,” but didn’t give any further details. It is not yet clear whether this application of Twitter will be covered by the Twitter Blue subscription.

According to a whitepaper, it is currently possible to watch live videos from Twitter on larger screens using Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. People with Xbox or Android TV can access Twitter on their device using a web browser.

In an investor presentation reviewed by Reuters, the social media company that recently hired its new CEO plans to focus on video and trading partnerships to explore more ways to make money. During the presentation, it was revealed that vertical videos account for more than 10% of the time spent on Twitter.

On the other hand, this news comes a few weeks after popular streaming platform Vimeo announced that it would unplug all TV streaming apps. Meanwhile, Twitter was also in the news for various other reasons, such as being kicked out of its Colorado office for unpaid rent. It is also said that the company has not yet made Google Cloud payments and its services may be shut down by the end of June.
