Do Kwon denied forgery of travel documents and any financial ties to Europe Now party leader Milojko Spajic.
Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon testified to the Montenegrin court that he was unaware that the passport he was traveling with was fake and instead blamed it on a China-based agency. Kwon told the Montenegrin court that he received his allegedly fake passports through third-party agents, South Korean news outlet Segye Ilbo reported on June 17.

“I got my Costa Rican passport through a Singaporean agency recommended to me by a friend, and my Belgian passport through another agency,” Do Kwon said in a statement.
Do Kwon also stated that since he has been traveling with a Costa Rican passport for years, he has no reason to doubt the authenticity of the passport. The prosecution asked Kwon for more details about which agency he got his passports from, but Kwon added that he couldn’t remember exactly and simply knew the agency’s name was in Chinese.
In addition to denying that he forged travel documents, Kwon also denied any financial donations to Milojko Spajic, Montenegro’s former finance minister and current leader of the Europe Now party.
Kwon allegedly clashed with Spajic in a letter he sent to some Montenegrin officials days before the country’s last elections, according to a June 17 report by the regional unit of Radio Free Europe. Kwon’s lawyers state that these allegations are absolutely untrue. Spajic also denied any connection to Kwon. However, rumors about financial ties between them were widely covered in various news sources in Montenegro.
After the hearing, Judge Ivana Becic announced that she will give her verdict on the fraud charges on 19 June. Kwon will be placed under extradition custody for six months while the local court considers South Korea’s extradition request.
