In a news we shared with you last week, we mentioned that Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO of Twitter, officially took office and even realized her first act. The latest news reveals that the CEO is now ready for Twitter transformation.
Linda Yaccarino sent an email to all Twitter staff. In this e-mail, it is very clearly explained what exactly “Twitter 2.0” aims at, which is also mentioned by Elon Musk from time to time, and what the renewed platform will offer to the end user. Let’s take a closer look at that email.
Twitter 2.0 will be “the world’s most accurate source of real-time information”!
Yaccarino, who made quite assertive sentences in the e-mail he sent to the employees, said that his Twitter 2.0 mission is to be “the world’s most accurate source of real-time information”. Explaining that they also want to “become a global city square for communication”, Twitter CEO added that this will only be possible with the motivation of the employees. Mentioning that they are on the verge of making history, the CEO also stated that the success of the platform is the responsibility of all employees.
Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino’s email to employees:
Elon knew that these industries, from space exploration to electric vehicles, needed transformation, and so he did. More recently, it has become increasingly clear that the global city square (Twitter) needs transformation to move civilization forward through the unfiltered exchange of information and open dialogue about what matters most to us.
Enter Twitter 2.0.
Twitter is on a mission to be the world’s most accurate source of real-time information and a global town square for communication. We are on the verge of making history, and this is no empty word. This is our reality.
When you start this powerful vision with your arms around it, literally anything is possible. You must truly believe and work hard for that belief. And in this moment of total reinvention, we have the opportunity to cross the halls, forge new partnerships, celebrate new voices, and build together something that can change the world. And as far as I can tell so far, you were made for it.
The success of Twitter 2.0 is entirely our responsibility.
We need to think big.
We need to transform.
We all have to do it together.
And we can do all this by starting from the first principles, questioning our assumptions, and building something new from scratch. It is rare to have the chance to put a new future in the hands of every person, partner and creator on the planet.
That’s exactly why I’m here – with all of you.
