When it comes to smartphone processors, Qualcomm, one of the leading names in the market, continues its preparations for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In this context, the processor, which will have a similar architecture to its predecessor, can push the limits with its performance. Finally, the first results of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance were shared.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will blow your mind with its performance

Reportedly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will provide a significant performance advantage over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 without sacrificing power efficiency. For those who don’t know, the upcoming chipset is expected to use TSMC’s N4P manufacturing technology. Let us remind you that this technology is similar to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Up to 30 percent faster

As for performance, it is stated that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be 30 percent faster in OpenCL tests, especially with the new generation Adreno 750 graphics unit. However, a 10 percent performance increase in a single core and a 20 percent increase in multi-core performance will be waiting for us. Behind this performance, it is possible that higher clock speeds and the new generation Cortex-X4 core are hidden.

It is also stated that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will have two different core configurations, 1+5+2 and 2+4+2. So there will be another more powerful 8 Gen 3 version. At this point, it should be noted that the version with two Cortex-X4 cores will offer a significant improvement in performance. Also, the presence of more Cortex-A720 cores will tip the arrows in favor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to be introduced by Qualcomm in 2023. The phones that will be powered by the new generation chipset have not been announced yet. However, we can say that it will be used in mainstream phones, including Galaxy S24, Xiaomi 14.
